About us

At Stepping Forward Services, we partner with Alberta businesses to build psychologically safe, compliant, and high-functioning workplaces.

Workplace challenges such as burnout, team conflict, harassment concerns, or mental health and substance use issues can quickly affect productivity, safety, and staff retention. We help organizations address these challenges proactively by identifying workplace risks, strengthening policies, and equipping teams with the right training and tools.

Through bilingual (French and English) consulting grounded in organizational psychology, we support businesses in creating environments where employees feel safe, supported, and able to perform at their best.

What We Offer:

  • Harassment and violence prevention planning
Support developing or strengthening workplace prevention plans to meet Alberta’s legal requirements.

  • Psychosocial risk and workplace assessments
Identifying factors such as workload pressures, burnout risk, leadership challenges, and team dynamics that may impact psychological safety.

  • Employee training (in person or online)
Practical training on respectful workplaces, psychological safety, conflict prevention, and frontline workplace realities.

  • Mental Health First Aid certification
Evidence-based training that equips employees and leaders with the skills to recognize and respond to mental health concerns.

  • Guidance on mental health and substance use in the workplace
Support navigating complex situations while balancing duty to accommodate with protecting employees, clients, and the organization.

Why It Matters:
A proactive approach to psychological health and safety helps businesses reduce workplace risks, strengthen leadership practices, and create healthier teams. Organizations that address workplace issues early often see stronger engagement, improved collaboration, and greater stability within their workforce.

Our approach focuses on prevention, practical systems, and clear guidance, helping businesses protect their people while supporting long-term organizational performance.

Who We Work With:
We support private companies, unionized workplaces, and organizations across industries — especially those who want to move beyond compliance and make lasting changes to workplace culture.

Construction
I have a passion for my profession, and helping others feel powerful and free from mental blockage is my priority. I take pride in offering my knowledge and skills to organisations, and in a way, feel proud for being part of their success.

Unlike many mindset or well-being coaches, my approach does not start with generic workshops or team building strategies. I begin by assessing and understanding the underlying workplace dynamics and challenges before recommending solutions. This allows organizations to address the real issues rather than simply treating the symptoms.

Maxine.

What sets us apart from other consulting agencies?

Maxine acquired expertise, knowledge, and skills in Organisational Industrial Psychology while maintaining her status as a licensed Counselling Therapist in Canada. Both skills are difficult to find in the consulting industry.

Maxine, who was born and raised in France and earned her master's degree in Industrial Organisational Psychology in France, will provide Alberta organisations with knowledge directly from Europe. Europe is known to be about 10 years ahead in the consulting industry.

What sets her approach apart is that she doesn't rely on surface-level mindset coaching. She takes the time to assess workplace dynamics, identify the root causes of challenges, and then implement solutions that are practical, targeted, and sustainable.

In addition to being a licensed Counselling Therapist with a Masters degree in O-I psychology, Maxine is also an Integrated Health Practitioner. This certification offers knowledge and expertise in not just the brain and emotion, but also the body and physiological systems that contribute to motivation, productivity, adaptability, and social engagement.

Maxine works with a certified therapy dog and a bunny. They could both happily join Maxine for your employees to enjoy.

Maxine is fluent in both English and French and can provide services in both languages.
